Dining in Timor–Leste
Dili offers a wide range of dining options to choose from, ranging from traditional and modern restaurants to small eateries and coffee shops style establishments. Many of the restaurants have beautiful views out over the water and the cuisine offered is shaped by Timor-Leste’s indigenous traditions, the Portuguese influence, neighbouring countries and by the sea. In the evening, food stalls grill fresh seafood along the beachfront, which can be enjoyed with a cold drink while taking in the stunning views.
Outside of the capital, in the districts, larger guesthouses usually provide meals in-house, and there are other small restaurants, mostly of the ‘warung’ style.
